AWARDS

We wish to encourage the career development of talented students and young scientists by supporting and recognizing their contributions to research on fish parasites.  In order to do so, applications will be judged to determine the best abstracts submitted by a current, or recently graduated, student for presentation at the 7th Symposium on Fish Parasites (ISFP VII). 

1) Eligibility
The Young Scientist Award competition is open to all students (graduate, PhD and Master) and young scientists who are conducting research in the fields of fish parasitology. Certification of student’s status must be provided by the Institution where the student/young scientist conducts the research. In the overall 16 awards have been previewed.
All young scientist can present the application for both awards.


2) Awards will be available as:

• YOUNG SCIENTIST MONETARY award.
At the end of the congress, awards will be assigned to the best oral presentations and posters. A scientific committee formed during the ISFP VII will evaluate the applications. They will include 6 monetary awards, divided as follows:

• FREE REGISTRATION FEE.
The local Organization Committee will also assign 10 free registration fees for students and young scientists who want to attend the symposium and present       an abstract.


• “PAOLA IPPOLITI” award.
The Local Organizing Committee is organizing an International Fish Parasitologists soccer competition to raise fund for “Paola Ippoliti” Young Scientist Award(s). The amount of the award(s) will depend on the number of participants.


The Award’s application deadline is May 31st, 2007.
